Modified Blue is the about nothing blog created by me, San Antonio native Jay Elizalde. The blog is named after the running path where I’ve spent countless hours of time sweating, thinking, falling, and repeating. It’s where I got chased by a rogue skunk for the first time (they do that?). It’s the place I met some great new running pals and undoubtedly pissed off a few cyclists (we cool). It’s the only place I’ve managed to trip over a burrowing armadillo in true South Texas fashion. It’s where I was when I found out my wife was in labor with our son. It’s also where I thought about blogging for the first time and convinced myself to go for it. The Blue Loop at San Antonio’s McAllister Park has provided the backdrop for many introspective journeys and runner’s highs. When I leave the park’s designated loop path and venture into the wooded trails to increase difficulty and mileage – I run the Modified Blue.
